The Singapore government gazetted these 10 holidays for the general public in Singapore. The holidays are also MOE school holidays.
Employees covered by the Employment Act are entitled to 11 paid public holidays annually, with the option to substitute them for other working days by mutual agreement. Those required to work on a public holiday must receive an extra day’s basic pay in addition to their regular pay.
Alternatively, employers may grant time-off-in-lieu for public holiday work, based on mutually agreed hours, for workmen earning above $4,500/month, non-workmen earning above $2,600/month, and all managers and executives.
